INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION

This kind of production combines the precision of modern industrial machines to our team skills.
Lining sewing , lining pressing, interlining sewing and label stitching processes are made by machines, but the bartack stitching, the final ironing and quality control are strictly made by seamstress and tailors.

QUALITY CONTROL ON FABRICS

This is the first step in our production process.
All the fabrics received are registered and stocked following the Internal working sheet, that join the information received from mills and production instructions from Customers.
After passing the Quality Control, the fabrics are carried to our cutting dept for starting production.
If the quality control is negative, our sales office contacts customers and mills in order to bring the production process to the required standards.

SPREADING OF FABRIC

During this step we have a further quality control, leaded to check again the perfect quality of both the weaving or prints, and finishing.
Two workers on each table spread the fabric down, in order to prepare the fabrics block, ready for cutting.

GERBER CUTTING SYSTEM

Cravattificio Alba adopts a CAD-CAM cutting system for cutting and styling, using a Gerber machine mod. GT52517S, in order to ensure maximum homogeneity and precision of the cut, rigorously on the bias, and to optimize fabrics consumption.
This system permits us to manage correctly both big quantity orders and small orders, optimizing production timing.

CUTTING THE INTERLINING

In order to maximize production efficiency and to provide a vast assortment Cravattificio Alba cuts interlinings insource with a CAD/CAM operating system.
Interlining fabrics, rigorously Italian made, are woven in our Italian factories following our requests.
We use a spreader double cradle designed for this purpose, that can spread properly the material and using a 45° cut.

HAND CUTTING

Special styles and “logo” fabrics require the expertise of our cutter artisans.
Placement, cutting drawing and cutting of the “crest” fabrics are made strictly by hands.

SEWING

This step involves 22 high specialized workers, and is located on the main floor of the building, in an area of 400 sm.

SEWING OF THE LINING

This stage of manufacture is done with the most advanced machine technology available on the market and under strict supervision of our employees.
Every necktie is carefully examined before moving in the production chain to ensure a flawless product free from defects.

PRESSING THE LINING

Thanks to a new model of press with a suction device a uniform and calibrated ironing is assured on all types of silks. To guarantee a harmonious blade the edges of the necktie must be homogenous and of the same width.

LIBA

It is a machine that can sew neckties up to 170 cm in length. Great care is taken when setting the machine in order to align perfectly the outer fabric with the interlining.

PINNING OF THE BLADE AND TAIL

This is a critical step of the production, involving the most visible parts of the tie.
Each tie is strictly checked to have the perfect symmetry of the tips, verifying the correct shape of the blade and the fit of the interlining.

BARTACKING

The skilled hands of our seamstresses complete the neckties with needle and thread by sewing a small bar tack which fastens the silk to the interlinings, forming a small loop on the tail which gives the necktie the right flexibility.

QUALITY CONTROL

At the end of the manufacturing process each tie is once again subjected to rigorous final inspection to check the width, length and to pinpoint any eventual imperfection which would compromise the quality of the workmanship.

METAL DETECTOR

In order to guarantee the maximum confort and to avoid the presence of pins and needles used in the making process and potentially dangerous for the users, all our products are controlled by scanning with our inside Tunnel Metal detector.
